welcome to forth space

Hey y’all, welcome!

My name is Regine Malibiran and I am the founder and CEO of forth space productions. I started forth space because, quite simply, it was time.

I’ve been making room for myself and my vision within the overlapping Venn diagram of truth-telling, community, and cultural advocacy for close to a decade. As a writer, I intentionally use the phrase “truth-telling” over “story-telling” to deepen our relationship with narratives and utilize them to elevate radical truths.

I first fell in love with the power of words in the 5th grade, when my teacher assigned the class to write a persuasive essay. I can’t recall now what I wrote about back then but I remember getting an A on the paper and feeling an intrinsic sense of accomplishment—a high that I’ve chased for the rest of my life.

As an adult that pursuit evolved into a conscious practice of using my persuasive superpowers for good. Since shortly after I graduated from university in 2016 I’ve been writing feature profiles, producing events, leading creative projects, and building community all with the intent of pushing progress across diverse identities.

I’m fortunate to have found my calling relatively early: to connect marginalized people through the arts and to wield our solidarity in pursuit of liberation.

forth space is the natural evolution of my life’s work so far—starting from that fateful first essay that I ever wrote. I crafted forth space as a vessel to not only hold impactful creative work but also to protect it. Part of our strategy is to do the barrier breaking work on behalf of creatives: navigating the bureaucracy of getting funding, carving non-traditional paths to success, and ultimately, expanding access and redefining what’s possible.

I never quite sit still (I’m an Aries, after all) and neither does forth space. There is no fast track to the irresistible, liberated futures we’re envisioning. “Between here and forward” is discomfort and change. “Between here and forward” are lessons learned the hard way. “Between here and forward” is the inherently complex, human capacity to be exhilarated and inspired and empowered; yet apprehensive and frustrated and exhausted at the same time.

Between here and forward is the work.

Are you ready?
